Beach Walk #34 – The Ocean Refuses No River

The rains continue. The weather has become the story, not just some benign topic that can be discussed without ruffling anyone's feathers. Homes are being lost. People are being swept out to sea. Trash is washing down from many directions and the ocean is quietly receiving it.

About Today's Show
I used to think it was a boring cop out to talk about the weather. Alas, here it is front and center for me today. The most extreme has occurred on our neighbor isle, Kauai. You can read more and see photos at kauaiworld.com.
Today's show is a tour of the trash washing down from the river and in from the sea. I am reminded of the Sheila Chandra song lyrics, "The ocean refuses no river" and indeed the foamy, brown waters are pouring in without a rest. Even lexi was not allowed in the water today.
Please pick up your trash and put it away safely. The honu and other sea life will appreciate you for it.
