Beach Walk #342 – Inner Guidance Over Rules

More discussion about having inner guidance as compared to following external abstract rules.

It’s very tempting to find comfort in rules, or having things pre-decided in black and white terms. But I find it breaks down too often, and in fact can impede problem-solving.

I prefer to use my inner guidance to help me decide how to act. That compass can be flexible and patient, taking time to weigh new information rather than pretend all situations are the same.

I’d love to hear how you manage conflict and inconsistencies.

Beach Walk #341 – A Smile and a Breath

No problems solved today but Lexi found some new friends and we get to share a smile and beautiful scenery.

All kine video sites are showing up that “scrape” the RSS feeds of video hosting sites. Some are being cool (no mods to the movies, links back to the owner’s web site) and that’s also helping us each find new viewers.

Others are sticking ads right in the shows, around the shows, mixing inappropriate as well as irrelevant content, and you got it – not a dime going back to any of the owners of the actual content.

It seems doomed to try to make more rules; time to be even more creative!

Beach Walk #340 – Going to Blogher

I’m speaking at the Blogher Business Conference in New York March 22-23. I think conferences are a great way to get immersed and make connections.

Blogging communities are well known for sharing information freely. And this conference? Well, the (mostly) women who put on this event are amazing in their outreach and determination to enable each person to feel welcome. I hope you’ll consider attending!

Beach Walk #339 – Get Fit with Rox

I’m getting a Nike Plus for my iPod. Anybody else want to help each other get fit?

A while ago, Secret Cameraman got a Nike Plus which is a gadget that connects to your iPod and along with a show sensor, measures the miles you walk/run. It then tracks it for you in this beautiful online interface and allows you to connect with others in setting goals, etc.

I’ve been missing a fair amount of my regular exercise, so I bought one today with the hope that a new gadget will help me get back on track. If you already use a Plus or just want to set some goals that we in the Beach Walks community can support you in meeting, then please leave me a comment and we’ll figure out a way to make it happen.

What are your goals? Do you find fitness easy or challenging or irrelevant?

Hoʻoholo: to run, move swiftly
