We're on a roll: meet the producer of Mighty J, Doctor Trey!
I met "Doctor Trey" through the Hawaii Association of Podcasters. He's an influential person in the music industry here. His talents (and his students, including Jake Shimabukuro) keep expanding in so many directions!
He says he never likes to be on camera, but some magical combination of Mighty J's energy and being at the beach...and he decided to walk with us. The more I get to know Trey, the more in awe of him I am. He teaches Ê»uku.lele, he is a NÄ HÅkÅ« Hanohano award winning record producer and sound engineer, he has taught himself to podcast (audio and video), built several web sites, and is a new dad!
We had him over for dinner tonight to meet our friends Eric, Stacey, and Kaile. Eric is going on a second tour of Iraq, so Trey's going to give him some uke lessons so he can take the sweet sounds of aloha (along with our thoughts and prayers) with him.
Meanwhile, here is a link to Kimo Watanabe's MySpace page. Kimo - please be on Beach Walks sometime!

[...] Roxanne Darling, who is a dear friend of our show, for some strange reason or another wanted to have me as a guest on her show. Although I know this might cause many to unsubscribe from her show, I do appreciate her (along with scm and lexi.) So, most of you who have tuned into Mighty J TV know that I usually try to stay off camera, but how could I say no to Rox? So if you’re interested go watch the episode before she takes it down, which she will do once she discovers how many people don’t want to see my beautiful mug on camera. [...]

DoctorTrey and Roxy....you two are doing great things. Keep up the Hawaiian spirit and music. Living in the states...we don't get to experience as much of the hawaiian culture and music as you do. My wife and i love listening to your shows.

Rox, another great show! Dr. Trey, dude I knew we'd love ya - anyone that looks at the world through rose-tinted glasses attacks the world with optimism.

Hi Rox, I just started watching your show a week ago and I'm already hooked!
Hey David in Galveston, I'm also in the Galveston area and have you heard of the AlohaFest that's held in League City every year? It's a really great way to experience a little aloha spirit in the Texas plus they have OC racing.

Mahalo gang for making me feel special. At last check the subscriber count for my podcast was at 3 so I'm guessing that y'all may be my subscribers. Isn't it strange how Rox speaks in this cool and calm voice while I speak as though I have pop rocks in my mouth?

To AJB,
I've never been to the aloha fest but ive heard of it...i think its usually like in the first or second week of october over at Landolt Pavilion down near nasa road. My wife and i might have to check it out this year.
