“Nervous and self-conscious…†You? Wow, I never saw that one coming.
I like breaking up the routine too; but then I go back and question if I’m really breaking it up or just tossing in a distraction. I think it’s easy to get sucked into the fun of the distraction instead of dealing with the issue that pushed you into the distraction. Then again (and I’m thinking out loud, sorry), that the frequency of the distractions would probably indicate if the distraction is just a break or an excuse.
You always make my think Miss Rox – mahalo!
Off topic: How does everyone navigate the water there? I mean, I see swimmers and boaters in the same space - how do you avoid accidents? Can you swim out to the little islands in the background?

In Lanikai it's a free for all. People are expected to pay attention, and the boats for the most part just park in close, then leave to go out to the islands. People swim, paddle, surf, and boat (power and outrigger) out to the islands. In the canoe, we often encounter turtles and swimmers, and the creatures do a good job of looking out for each other.
