What can I say? It's truly an honor. Thank you so much for mentioning my work in the show.

It's true. Video is changing how people think about the internet, and how people express themselves. More "geeky" and computer-savvy people are the first to do this, of course, because they're more accustomed to the internet in the first place. The first real explosion of this was YouTube, but now we're starting to see more refined expressions of how video is handed, such as the work at blip.tv who are basing videos around "show" format. How this eventually changes the media landscape will be very interesting, especially now that products like the Apple TV are coming out that make it simple for a child to watch a podcast on an HDTV.

When I shot Quick Chill, I never thought that someone living in Hawai'i would see it, much less be inspired by it. What incredible times we live in. More videos coming, of course. I wonder why you felt so chilly in this episode though... subliminal messaging?

I love what you guys are doing. Keep up the great walk!

I am not only a lover of human kind, but they also fascinate me. The internet has afforded me the chance to see not only the diversity in different people, but the diversity sometimes in a single person. In the real world we tend to associate with a certain kind of group. On the internet I find we are such a melting pot that we tend to glean things from each other that makes us fuller than we thought we could be. Hence, the geek discovers his beautiful side and the artist discovers a new medium for his passion. Anyway, I love it, and you for being part of it all.

Ah, yes - binary code 101. Zeros and ones...either the electricity works, or it doesn't. Due to fluctuations in currents (think of brownuts) that is the crux of creating the binary language. Thus, a 1-bit has TWO choices...either on or off. 8 bits = 1 byte. There are 256 choices (1 (for zero)+1+2+4+8+16+32+64+128)in an 8-bit graphic (think grayscale). Bit depth occurs when, let's use RGB, this has a "24 bit depth...or an 8-bit row for each color: red - blue - green. So much for my art degrees, as well! Maybe this is more about the 'tools' of the trade vs. actual creativity; the brush and canvas tools vs. the resulting capture of a soul lingering within imagery created by paint strokes...but for the moment, it's Monday and the geek side is showing
