Beach Walk 724 – Pau Hana

This episode was filmed last Friday – what a perfect way to start a week! My friend Eric got some new Hero cameras and mounted them on his canoe. You get a great range of perspectives, and of course Eric’s daughter Kaile, makes an appearance near the end. This is true Hawaiian lifestyle at its best. If you look hard, you’ll see Rox in the background too. You can check out Eric’s Pueo canoe here.

The music in this episode is from our friend Kaimoku, “Honolulu Shuffle.” You can purchase the album here.

Beach Walk 696 – For the love of paddling

Join me as I chat with a friend of mine and Lanikai Canoe Club keiki coach Ricky Bermudez.

The kids are 8 to 10 years old, and though the official season is over, Ricky still meets with them once a week on Sundays so they can continue paddling. That is truly the Aloha spirit in action.

Hawaiian Word:
Hoe: paddle
Keiki: child, children

Beach Walk 632 – Island Adventure

Beauty Alert!!!

We had friends visiting and borrowed the Foti family canoe, the Waʻa Lele, and paddled out the Mokulua Islands. The sunshine and the water and the colors are just beautiful! Dan Brown brought his HERO camera rig for the canoe, Mindy Clark of steered us, and friends Jeff and Carlos (you met them in Episode 369 along with Stacey (Episode 296) and Kaile (Episode 572, and I had a great trip. Secret Cameraman and Lexi rounded out the beach crew.

FWIW, Shane (Episode 445 The Secret) spent 10 hours editing this episode. We have fabulous music from Cubworld – who will be on the show in a couple of weeks! Please go buy his music here.

Please welcome and check out our show sponsor, Primo Water. Primo Water is a new, environmentally-friendly water bottled in a natural plastic made from plants, a renewable resource grown on American soil.

This Beach Walks replay debuted in August 2006.

“There was an awesome swell in town, so I decided to grab some surf footage. And I couldn’t stop until the light faded and the sea mist fogged my lens. The water was filled with people playing in the waves with all kinds of fun toys!”

Show highlights: Outrigger canoes catching waves (Lanikai and Kailua); stand-up paddling surfer; Anissa, Dave, Johnnie, and Temujin; Lexi hunting for a Snickers bar for Johnnie.

I am barely awake in this episode…as co-mingling with 10,000 geeks at the SXSW Interactive Conference kept me on the run for long days! I was thrilled to join Chris Brogan, Chris Heuer, and Jeremiah Owyang on a panel discussion. Please enjoy a few tips for creating mindfulness in the midst of massive energy!

Thank heaven for some rooftop restoration at our hotel. Plus you get to meet a few of the peeps!
